	DOMA
	

is an artist/design trio that works with conceptual and visual art, curation, design and production of exhibitions, programs, publications and formats that place themselves in-between.


The group’s artistic approach is curious and investigative, often rhizomatic in its structure, letting different threads connect, disconnect and new paths to unfold alongside the processes of development. The trio works with site/space specific installations, objects, photo, video, text and a variety of other media.
DOMA’s practice can be seen as a hybrid space where artistic work and curatorial aspects are woven together, supporting each other during the process. This also manifests itself in different collaborations with other artists or partners, where co-creative/productive environments unfold parallel to the artistic developments.


DOMA is Sofia Florell, Fanny Lindh and Ida Sondell.

2023.09.30-2023.10.XXHedegärdessjön, SkenePart of group exhibition by DOMA and MASU - Minnen om framtidenCONTINUUMLångt före dagens sekunder och minuter har vi människor försökt att etablera en relation och ett förhållningssätt till tid. Nuet innehåller något väsentligt som inte ryms inom naturvetenskapen vilket är svårt att föreställa sig, något som inte tar plats i tiden. Tiden - enligt den västerländska traditionen ses som linjär, men det finns flera sätt att se på den, och i olika tider har vi haft olika förklaringsmodeller och relationer till tiden. I vissa kulturer ses tiden som en flod där det förflutna flyter förbi och sedan driver längre och längre framför oss istället för att ligga bakom oss. Enligt flera stora tänkare är tiden helt och hållet en själslig process som inte existerar utanför människans medvetande, det vill säga att tiden är en illusion. Att det är vår erfarenhet av tiden som ger den rörelse. Augustinus skriver att det finns tre tider där människan finner närvaro: i förfluten tid via minnet, i pågående tid via iakttagelsen och i kommande tid via förväntan. Det vill säga att all tid pågår egentligen här och nu. Den fornnordiska mytologin berättar om de tre nornorna Urd, Verdandi och Skuld, de tre ödesgudinnorna som spann och vävde på ödets trådar. Var och en av ödesgudinnorna representerar samma tre tider som Augustinus menar bor i själen; det förflutna, nuet och det framtida.Continuum är ett verk som undersöker och gestaltar tid - som begrepp och som upplevd erfarenhet.Verket uppstod under en tre dagar lång performance där de tre konstnärerna vävde tre väggar i långsam takt med tunn lintråd mellan träd i skogen. Totalt består verket av 7540 meter tråd. Rulle för rulle vävdes tidsdimensionerna nutid, dåtid och framtid fram parallellt, jämsides varandra. När en rulle tog slut pausades den fysiska vävningen för att ge plats åt den sinnliga. Konstnärerna intog då varsin pall som fanns i anknytning till vävarna för att reflektera en stund innan föregående rulle knöts samman med nästa och den fysiska vävningen återupptogs. Till skillnad från nornorna växlade konstnärerna mellan de tre olika vävarna och representationerna för tid. Detta för att alla skulle få ta plats i, och reflektera kring, den tid som vävdes fram, för att slutligen tillsammans färdigställa slutet på varje väv.Genom vävningen finns kopplingen till platsens kulturhistoriska arv (Mark) där hundratals kvinnor - väverskor - under flera hundra år ägnat sig åt vävningens konst. Redan under 1500-talet var vävningen stor i Mark och under 1700-talet var linnétygerna från Mark ett adelsmärke för hela Sverige. Att knyta samman verket till den platsspecifika traditionen, hantverket och materialet innebär i sig själv en resa i tiden, både för konstnärerna såväl som för betraktarna.Väggarna i Continuum framträder som genomträngliga med passager och tomrum inuti såväl sig själva som mellan varandra. Beroende på var betraktaren står uppenbarar sig och förhåller sig tidsdimensionerna till varandra på olika sätt. Från ett perspektiv löper de parallellt med varandra och från ett annat sker en förskjutning där de följer efter varandra. På avstånd ter sig allting som ett och samma. Ett sammanvävt rum där nutid, dåtid och framtid inte går att särskilja från varandra. Ett kontinuum där allting hänger ihop och allting pågår - i oändligheten.The exhibition was part of MASU’s and DOMA’s group exhibiton ‘Minnen om framtiden’ during GIBCA Extended 2023 - Forms of the surrounding futures.

SHELF PUBLISHING


Shelf Publishing är ett nomadiskt bibliotek och en butik för självpublicerat material i olika former (oberoende/små upplagor/zines/konstnärsböcker etc). The SHELF/Hyllan flyttas efter förfrågan och cureras av communityt på den plats den befinner sig på för tillfället. Publikationerna som finns i Hyllan är uppdelade i två uppmärkta kategorier:

Bibliotek (grönt klistermärke) - donerade publikationer som kan lånas hemButik (lila klistermärke) - publikationer som är möjliga att köpa via swish
Du kan själv donera eller placera ut publikationer i Hyllan genom att märka upp dem med ett av de klistermärken för bibliotek eller butik som finns att tillgå. Om din publikation är till försäljning märker du även upp den med pris samt swishnummer. Vill du låna hem en publikation från biblioteket så går det fint att ta med den hem för att lämna tillbaka den vid ett annat tillfälle. Vill du köpa en publikation så swishar du summan till det nummer som är uppmärkt på publikationen. Shelf Publishing drivs på ett förtroendebaserat system och vi ansvarar inte för stulna publikationer.
Bakom Shelf Publishing står Salon de Papier - en nomadiskt plattform med självpublicering i fokus samt Skogen - en scen och en arbetsplats för konstnärer i Göteborg. Mer info om Shelf Publishing samt var Hyllan befinner sig just nu hittar du på shelfpublishing.samarbetet.org

	A conversation about a tree

	
	It is hard to act upon things that we cannot relate to – things that we cannot grasp. A conversation about a tree is an effort to build something that we can grasp, something that we can relate to, something that is tangible. It is an effort to build a tree. 
But is it a tree? Or is it just an attempt to grasp the ungraspable? This thing that you can see is not a tree. It is an illusion of a tree. It is really several trees, it is ‘a tree’ made out of firewood and plywood. A conversation about a tree is a sign of powerlessness. It is not a tree. It is the cost of a tree: four bags of firewood bought at the local food and hardware store. The price that we, as humans, have put on a tree. A price that is silent about so many other trees. 
So what are the intentions with this thing? By showing it, I aim to start a conversation about a tree so that we can talk about so many other atrocities. If we can gather and take a look at it, we can easily see that it is not a tree; in fact this thing is possibly 90 different trees, built up as it is of 90 different pieces of firewood of which each may have a different origin. But if A conversation about a tree can start a conversation about this one thing, then maybe we can start to break it apart, so that we can talk about all these other things within.
This is an attempt to grasp something ungraspable, to visualize that even simple things are complex. Trees can live without us, but we cannot live without them. This is a sign of powerlessness but also a sign of power. By creating a thing for us to gather around, a discussion about all the atrocities within can take place. Trees have the ability to be something we can grasp, but the same ability can&#38;nbsp;swipe us off our feet. So why not start a conversation about a tree?
A conversation about a tree is a conversation piece inspired by Bertolt Brecht’s poem ‘Till kommande släkten’:
In truth, I live in dark times!The innocent word is foolish. A smooth forehead Indicates insensitivity. Those who laughHave not yet receivedThe terrible news.What times are these, in which A conversation about a tree is almost a crimeSince it implies silence about so many atrocities! He who walks quietly across the streetMay well no longer be reached by friendswho are in danger?

2023.09.13Relational contextual conversation

A workshop focusing on relation building, the more-than-human, indivudal and collective reflection, collaboration, knowledge exchange, and systems thinking. During the workshop, the participants was divided into groups, each with representatives from different units of the department. Taking place outdoors in a nearby location within walking distance, groups was guided through a process involving all their senses (visual, sound, tactile, etc). In a series of connected activities, participants were to experience different perspectives,&#38;nbsp; individually relate to their surroundings and themselves and then share thougths and reflections within their group.
